kunstgalerij

This old chemical factory, located at the outskirts of Ghent,  is currently used as workspace of Belgian artist Honoré d'Ho. They asked us to fictionally transform the building into an art gallery, with a place to stay for the artist included.

Concept:

By drawing a diagonal path through the building, and playing with the levels and infill, spaces with various heights and sizes are created in a natural way. Every art form demands it's own kind of space and that is what I wanted to offer: different levels of intimacy and magnitude. This way, every artwork can be justified by its space around it.

Location: Mariakerke, GHENT
